Photo by Jerry Sowden - A dedication celebration for the Titusville Community Gateway was held Wednesday at the Gateway location at the intersection of Route 8 and Dutch Hill Road. The gateway consists of a 32-foot wooden replica oil derrick constructed of rough cut hemlock and illuminated with low voltage solar lighting. There is also an original wooden oil tank and signage. Marilyn Black, vice-president of heritage development for the Oil Region Alliance, hands out scissors to the people waiting to perform the official ribbon cutting ceremony. The gateway is designed to draw visitors into Titusville.
